The Robert Glasper Experiment teamed up with Pete Rock and the legendary Roy Ayers for a few special shows over the past year or so. Earlier this summer, we were blessed with a soundboard recording of the super-group performing live at the North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands. Last year we presented some treats from their show in Harlem (refresh your memory here), and now we have the full set for your download pleasure below. Big thanks to Randy from Funk It for passing along this show- be sure to check out his site Funk It for all that live funk goodness.

The Robert Glasper Experiment and MF Doom? I certainly did not expect to see this collab ever happen, but Doom is now the latest emcee to add his name to the resume of performing with Glasper and company. When I first heard about the show, I was praying the Montreux Jazz Festival folks would release some footage (which they are known to do) and while that wish didnt quite come true, I was able to dig up an audience recording as well as some decent video.

As previously posted, Lupe Fiasco performed alongside The Robert Glasper Experiment at the Blue Note this past weekend and put on an incredible. We promised to post more of the show, so without further ado, here are some exclusive gems of Lupe performing I Gotcha, Kick Push, Im Beamin and Dumb It Down from the early show on Saturday. As a bonus, we’ve included The Experiment doing an incredibly dope rendition of John Coltrane’s classic, A Love Supreme.

Lupe Fiasco performed alongside the Robert Glasper Experiment for 4 amazing shows at The Blue Note this weekend. We were in the building for the final two shows and were treated to an impromptu cypher session between Lupe Fiasco, Mos Def and Kanye West. The trio freestyled, spit new verses, classic verses and then Mos did fantastic renditions of Umi Says and Black Radio, all backed by the incredible Robert Glasper Experiment. It was truly epic and the intimate venue made the performance even more special. ATWL is proud to exclusively present the entire 30 minute cypher session. More audio of Lupe’s set will be posted soon, so stay tuned for more treats.

Mos Def performed at the Blue Note last week along side Robert Glasper on keys and DJ Preservation on turntables, MPC, and live samples. The show was only announced only 4 days prior to the concert, but still managed to sell out quickly. During the set, Mos hopped on the keys for a sec to perform the unreleased The Kids Look Fresh, then made his way over to the drum kit, where he remained most of the evening, drumming while rapping and singing. His loose set featured some laid back, alternative renditions of his classics as well as many jams heavily influenced by J Dilla. Here’s some highlights from our exclusive recording.
