The  Roots & Q-Tip headlined the Hennessy Artistry tour this year and last week they touched down in NYC for the grand finale.  As with all the Hennessy shows, there were many special guests as Ronald Isley, Bobby Brown, Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu, Mike Posner, D-Nice and Eve all took the stage with The Legendary.  Hennessy was gracious enough to stream the event live on ustream, so you can check out the full concert on-demand below, as well as download our audio rip of the show.

Erykah Badu joined The Roots on Jimmy Fallon this past Friday to join The Legendary during their on-air tribute to the late Michael Jackson.  While most of the treats happened between commercial breaks, Questlove was generous enough to pass along these covers of “I Wanna Be Where You Are” and “Billie Jean”, which they recorded live in the 30 Rock studio just before the taping began.  Fanstastic stuff here.

Erykah Badu took center stage at one of more prestigious venues in New York City last year, backed by a great live band, featuring Chris “Daddy” Dave holdin it down on the drums.  Here is her rendition of “Soldier” from the show, which was one of the highlights of the night for me.  Karreim beats makin me fiendish! © Black Thought
