2010 was another great year for music and as the new year approaches, its time to look back at the best albums to come out in 2010. As with last year, since the focus of this site is live music and we’re discussing studio albums, we will provide a new live song from each artist who made our list.

Black Milk celebrated the release of Album Of The Year last night at Southpaw in Brooklyn and apparently tore the house down. Detroit was out in full force as Guilty Simpson, Elzhi and Sean Price all shared the stage with Black Milk throughout the evening. Others in attendance included Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch, Jay Electronica among others. The show sounded crazy as the band was on point and Black blessed the crowd with a selection of cuts from all 3 of his albums. Black Milk finally stopped over in NYC this past weekend to passthrough Fat Beats for an intimate in-store performance to celebrate Record Store Day 2010. Hip-hop heads packed the tiny store to show respect for one of the best up-and-coming talents in the game. Somehow, they managed to make room for Daru Jones on drums, AB on keys and Bill Sharp on the wheels so Black could rock with his usual band set-up. They put on a hell of a set and I hope they return to the big apple soon. His new release, Album Of The Year, is slated for a summer release and is looking like it will ive up to its name.
