Mos Def performed at the Blue Note last week along side Robert Glasper on keys and DJ Preservation on turntables, MPC, and live samples.  The show was only announced only 4 days prior to the concert, but still managed to sell out quickly.  During the set, Mos hopped on the keys for a sec to perform the unreleased The Kids Look Fresh, then made his way over to the drum kit, where he remained most of the evening, drumming while rapping and singing.  His loose set featured some laid back, alternative renditions of his classics as well as many jams heavily influenced by J Dilla.  Here’s some highlights from our exclusive recording.

Mos Def – Casa Bey (Live @ The Blue Note 2-8-11)

Mos Def – Priority (Live @ The Blue Note 2-8-11)

Mos Def – Bedstuy Parade & Funeral March (Live @ The Blue Note 2-8-11)

Mos Def – Nag Champa / Love (Live @ The Blue Note 2-8-11)
