The Roots and Common continue their limited nationwide, Hennessy Artisrty tour and recently stopped by The Velvet Room in Atlanta.  While much of the ATL hype was centered around the Goodie Mobb reunion show, which was going on the same night across town, The Roots and Common put on hell of a show themselves that was not to be missed.  Boyz II Men made a rare appearance, backed by their old high school classmates, The Roots, as did Amerie and Anjulie.  Check out soundboard audio of Boyz II Men’s brief set as well as some highlights of Amerie and Common’s performances with The Legendary.

Amerie + The Roots – “Why R U” & “One Thing”

Common + The Roots – “Punch Drunk Love (The Eye)”

Boyz II Men + The Roots – Motown Philly

Boyz II Men + The Roots – I’ll Make Love To You

What an awesome concert this is and an excellent R&B music news article about some of the my favorite R&B artists including Boyz II Men and Amerie plus rap star Common. Back in the day Boyz II Men were the R&B band. There amazing mixture of accappella R&B songs and uptempo new jack swing records took them to the top of the R&B world. Boyz II Men`s excellent R&B music videos are still classics today and some of the best R&B music videos over the last two decades. Amerie is also a hot R&B artist and I loved her song “One Thing” with its excellent R&B music video. Both of these artists are amazing live too so this video was really amazing.
