Fresh off their legendary performance at The Roots Picnic (see here), P.E. was at it again, this time rockin the crowd down in Tennessee for Bonnaroo.  Public Enemy always brings a great live show, and this is no exception.  Here we present the entire set, once again courtesy of  Sydney Live.

MURS

badu roots

Erykah Badu joined The Roots on Jimmy Fallon this past Friday to join The Legendary during their on-air tribute to the late Michael Jackson.  While most of the treats happened between commercial breaks, Questlove was generous enough to pass along these covers of “I Wanna Be Where You Are” and “Billie Jean”, which they recorded live in the 30 Rock studio just before the taping began.  Fanstastic stuff here.

The Beastie Boys brought out Nas as a special guest during their set at Bonnaroo to premiere “Too Many Rappers”, which features the Queensbridge rapper and is on their new album, The Hot Sauce Commitee Part 1, which is due out September 15.  Its a bit unfortunate that this performance has Nas’ verses on the beat Mix Master Mike spins instead of a pure instrumental as its always strange when an emcee is rapping over his own voice on wax.  Still, the track sounds hot and I’m definitely looking forward to the album this fall.

Blitz The Ambassador

Blitz may not be a household name just yet, but he most definitely will be come August 4th when he hits the world with his new album, Stereotype.  While you’re waiting for that drop, check out his live set from a recent show at the Highline Ballroom in NYC.  In case you aren’t familiar, Blitz and his band, The Embassy Ensemble, put on hands down one of the best live shows in hip-hop.
