Well, I guess we can officially call it K’Naan week here at AllTheWayLive. I just stumbled across this nearly complete soundboard recording of his album release show from The Mod Club in Toronto this past Tuesday, courtesy of our friends north of the border at CBC Radio 3. K’Naan was one of the featured artists on Hot 97′s monthly “Who’s Next?” series at SOB’s earlier this week. Equipped with a full live band, he absolutely tore it down. Of course, All The Way Live was in the building and has the exclusive audio of “T.I.A.”, “Dreamer” and “ABC’s” with the veteran Chubb Rock joining him on stage. Some bonus video thrown in for good measure as well. Please show your support and get K’s new album, Troubadour, which hit store shelves and internet outlets everywhere this past Tuesday.

Ozomatli re-united with Chali 2 Na and will be taking their show on the road once again this Spring. If you’ve seen them live, you know they are incredible… but now with Chali back in the mix, its going to be even better. I just purchased my tix to see them next month, so in celebration, I’m taking a trip down memory lane to January 24th, 1998 to the Fillmore in San Francisco where Ozo killed it. Mos Def did six intimate shows at The Blue Note last month backed by The RCDC Experiment (Robert Glasper, Chris Dave, Casey Benjamin & Derrick Hodge). As you might imagine, the shows were incredible and personally, its going to be hard for another concert to top these for me this year- the bar has been raised. Here is their rendition of “Fantastic” from the first of the six shows.
